High Cesarean Section Rates in China:
China has one of the highest caesarean delivery rates in the world. Of 16 million babies born in 2010, approximately half were by caesarean. Although the exact rate is not known, the current Chinese language literature on caesarean rates in China reports total caesarean rates ranging from 36% to 58%. (MNT)
NORMAL BODY OBESITY (NBO)
Like obesity, normal weight obesity may increase your risk of serious health problems, including:
"Going to a 4-month regimen for drug-sensitive patients cuts the amount of time on therapy by 30%,"
The PaMZ regimen consisted of moxifloxacin 400 mg and pyrazinamide 1500 mg, plus PA-824 100 mg or PA-824 200 mg.
All drug-resistant patients received the 200 mg PaMZ regimen.

Standardised quality (SQ) house dust mite (HDM) sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT)–tablet (ALK, Denmark) in Treatment of Asthma:
de Blay F, et al. – In a double–blind, placebo–controlled trial, the authors investigated the standardised quality (SQ) house dust mite (HDM) sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT)–tablet (ALK, Denmark). In this subgroup, including only patients with partly controlled asthma, the benefit of 1 year of treatment with SQ HDM SLIT–tablet was significantly higher than for the less severe full population, both in terms of increased asthma control and improved quality of life.

Prostaglandin Associated Periorbitopathy (PAP):
Is a syndrome in which the eye sinks into the eye socket because of relative fat loss within the eye socket and around the eye.
This is associated with prostaglandin use. PAP is partially to completely reversible most of the time after cessation of therapy, and resolution typically occurs within 9 months

Abstract From Article on AHA/ACC Guidelines (2013) for Cholesterol Treatment:
Regarding cholesterol treatment, the guidelines put patients into four groups for risk assessment and treatment as follows2:
Individuals with known atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease should be placed on a high dose statin. (1) |
|
Patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes age 40 to 75 with an LDL of 70 to 189 mg/dL and a 10-year risk ≥7.5% should be considered for treatment with a high dose statin while those with (2) <7.5% 10-year risk should be considered for treatment with a moderate dose statin. |
|
Non-diabetics aged 40 to 75 years with LDL of 70 to 189 mg/dL and 10-year risk ≥7.5% should be considered for treatment with a moderate to high dose statin. (3) |
|
Those with an LDL ≥190 should be considered for treatment with a high dose statin. (4) |
The definition of statin dosage depends on the LDL cholesterol lowering ability of that dose: high dose lowers LDL cholesterol ≥50% (atorvastatin 40–80 mg or rosuvastatin 20–40 mg/day); moderate dose lowers LDL cholesterol 30% to <50% (atorvastatin 10 or 20 mg or rosuvastatin 5 or 10 mg); and low dose <30% (simvastatin 10 mg or pravastatin 10 to 20 mg).
