Inhaled Indacaterol (a long-acting beta-2-adrenergic agonist) and glycopyrronium bromide (an antimuscurinic):

The European Medicines Agency's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has recommended approval of 2 new once-daily inhaled bronchodilators for maintenance treatment to relieve symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults as reported in Medscape. The medications (Ultibro Breezhaler and Xoterna Breezhaler, Novartis Europharm) contain a fixed-dose combination of indacaterol (85 µg), a long-acting beta-2-adrenergic agonist, which relaxes the airway muscles, and glycopyrronium bromide (43 µg), a long-acting muscarinic antagonist, which blocks the bronchoconstrictor action of acetylcholine on airway smooth muscle cells, thereby dilating the airways.
