Seasons by Annie Finch

I met you when it was summer
You came into my life like a wave crushing onto the shore
When we fell in love it was fall
The colors were turning warmer
just like our feelings for each other

It was still autumn and we still talk
The leaves started to fall
Just like me for you
I'd kissed you the last time when it was winter
And I thought it would get warmer nevertheless

But everything froze
And you left me waiting in the cold and sad weather wishing it was fall again

People change just like seasons
But my feelings for you don't
