12-year-old girl, known c/o Allergic conjunctivitis consulted me yesterday. She had taken several medicines and used eye drops. Now she has brownish discoloration on the conjunctiva. But the lesions are not uniform, but distributed in palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva, with lesion free areas in between. The borders are faint. Allergic irritation is more in the morning and evening. Also there is slight discoluration on both eyelids, but not so prominent. Please give your opinion about the pathology. Is it due to any pigmentation as a result of chronic allergic changes?

Permalink Reply by Sumit Kumar on October 24, 2013 at 9:26pm It could be a case of Atopic Dermatitis in which pigmentary changes can occur.
Also it could be due to the preservatives in the eye drops....
