This is a 6 yr old girl who came to me for fever and cough. Incidentally I found this lesion. It is present since birth. It has increased from about 1cm now to about 4 cm . No itching. What is your diagnosis?

It looks like a very bad burn mark but quite recent one. Not to sound offensive - really! - but are you sure it's been there since birth?

I am quite sure, about the chronic nature. There were no signs of acute inflammation. But Dr Tiffany, surely doesn't look like a burn.

Could this be dysplastic nevus?

haemangioma but involute over time

my guess is they the vein was not as prominent before. I second afeef in thinking it is an involute haemangioma that has turned involute and is obstructive. Has she had had Propanolol yet? If yes has that vein been canueled when she was newborn?

is this a congenitally related?

Let's analyse this case .. the red colour is blood and this means an aincrement in blood perfustion to this area --->it's eather a very thin skin or upnormal vessels (vascular malformation) .... the whitish plaque is a keratosis just like sposiasis plaques ---> here im still wondering what could make such a lesion ?
