Hello
ACtually I am located in Philadelphia PA./ My school is a "sister" school of the larger Won Kwong University in S Korea. WE are the USA site.
There are many Korean students at my school, but also alot of Americans.
I hope you are enjoying yourself in Turkey. I have not yet been there, but have seen pictures and it seemd like a lovely place to be. It is good you have tried acupuncture. Yes, I believe for ENT speciality some aspects of it will help. Are you still in residency then?
I never saw a phobia of these sorts, however I did see in clinc a 73 yr old woman who dislikes swaloowing and said it was uncomfortable to swallow, and said she always had a feeling lie "something was stuck in her throat.: Personality wise, she was vey stern, serious, well-dressed, well-organized, and focused. She stuck to the point when dicussing the concerns...
During the first acupuncture treatment, it was discovered that she had a baby at age 18, unmarried, 50+ years ago.. In the US, this was not accepted, and her parents sent her away, where she secretly had the pregnancy and the baby. She did not want to give the baby away, but her parents and our society forced this b/c she was not married. SHE NEVER CRIED. EVER. ....
At 73 years old in the clinic, we then needled her "shen" spirit points to release trama as well as localized and "throat" points for the swallowing discomfort.
With in 10 minutes she was shaking on the table and cried uncontrollably for the first time about her baby.,.... her HUSBAND never even knew about the baby she gave up.
Now she reports less discomfort as well as spiritually able to cope with that loss.
Sometimes our body and mind are connected so much, that many years later, we have physical aliments.
Hello Erol,
yes, psychiatry is very interesting, I am most interestd in PTSD, and childhood trama. I have met several people who have PTSD with symptoms ranign from flashbacks, nightmares, age-regression behaviors, and various degrees of Disassociative Idenity Disorder (on the spectrum). - A close friend of mine went through something and it was very hard to witness and be a supporter, but in the end she is better and I have a interest in this topic. How it relates to Oriental Medicine/Acupuncture is interesting because we believe the body and mind are connected, thus the state of health of one is complementary to the other. If the mind is tramatized, the body will react, and the Qi will not flow.
Hello.
U did have friends in Pittsburg about 8 years ago - who went to school with me , but we have lost touch, or they got married and moved . the comments before about the hijab are very interesting. I am not sure about USA, but I think it is allowable to wear hijab here in surgery. I would think that is a protected right of religious freedom.
Any city and town in Ukraine has i night club. You can try Kharkov (Kharkiv), Lvov (Lviv), Yalta, Zaporozhe (Zaporizhzhya). Doneck, Dnepropetrovsk (Dnepropetrivsk), Odessa... Just take a tour in e-net and find out where do you want to go.
