Hi docs! I remembered reading an amusing old article on BBC News about the "medical slang" and the funny medical acronyms. So, just wanna share it to all of you.. Thank you for the book recommendation, I'll def give it a read... I know how long and hard the road is going to be but I'm not going to back down. If I did I would never forgive myself. I don't have any family members in the medical field so I am struggling to maintain my drive for medicine. Hence the reason I'm drowning myself in books and conversations with both future doctors and presently practicing doctors that can help me better understand the road ahead. It's hard to fight the urge to settle for the position I have right now as a forensic chemist, but I have never been one to settle and don't plan on it now! In your opinion, what are the best subspecialties to pursue if my main goal is to have a family and be a great dad... not one that is never home to see my kids. I absolutely love medicine, but want family to come first :-) btw, sorry for the essay I got carried away :-)
