Officials in the US state of Massachusetts are investigating claims that a group of teenage girls made a pact to become pregnant by the end of the school year.

At the end of the school year 17 teenage pupils at Glouchester High School were pregnant, four times last year's number.

Local officials say that nearly half of the girls had entered into a bizarre pact to have their babies together.

Many of the girls are under 16.

Some of the fathers are thought to be in their 20s and could face charges of having sex with minors.

Permalink Reply by DOCCEROO on June 30, 2008 at 4:29pm: I definitely seem to disagree with the fact laxmi highlighted that if we teach our children about safe sex then why not safe robbery n stuff...well if you put yer thought in a retrospective manner then it aint gono work ...cos sex is one thing any individual will indulge into at some point in time..n ofcourse with no legal bindings...but robbery n other examples which ya gave is something which would never be expected from someone in a normal course of life...ofcourse im not denyin the fact that some ppl do entertain even that aspect of life...but end of the day its a personal decision for every individual to engage themselves in however they want to go ahead with their lives when it comes to sex as long as they are not harming the society and to an extent the moral values of humanity...and ya when it comes to Indians being one of the most affected ppl with this dreadful disease called AIDS , I would say its just the lack of awareness amongst people and the cultural background wher talking about issues related to sex is taken with raised brows. All of it does not demand a law in place for making sex a big NO NO before marriage,but its upto people to understand that there is some mature and genuine thought process required to improve the system and also feel the need of putting an awareness programme on practising safe sex within the society. One cannot stop the whole country driving a car only because someone with lack of knowledge about driving had met with an accident. cant a person even have sex with his girl frnd b4 getting married to her,ohh come on...saints have left this earth a long time back...

god jus gave brains and a good body to man/woman....man made most of the things, energy from coal,fuel/tar from raw oil,comp chips from silicon,steel from iron ore...so man exploited everything for his own purposes n needs isnt it...so in the same way man started institution of marriage, premarital,post marital sex,polygamy, homosexuality,rape for his own needs n desires...man just wants his happiness..so a few set of ppl cant comment whether the needs of other humans r unjust or unfair...n for gods sake u cant equate having sex with ur gf with ROBBERY or MURDER can u!!!
so try to b practical in this practical world,if u dont want to have PMS,dont do it.... ppl who r doing it r nt forcing u do brk that sanctity bond of urs...but u have no right to comment on ppl who r doing it with out harming others....
n talking abt TEENAGE PREGNANCIES --- r u ignorant abt the no. of teenage pregnancies in india..many of the girls get married even b4 they get into their teens,by the time they r out of their teens they have 2 children in her lap & 1 in her tummy.... and countries where the most no of virgins r present have the fastest growing population rate....illiterate ppl who dont have pms n produce 5-10 kids and increase burden on society..... n literate ppl who have pms hardly have 1-2 kids...n in literate n developed countries nt even 1....do i need present nemore statistics !!!
and indian culture is still the best in the world , ok... no1 can ever change it...deeds can of course b western buts roots r still indian....jai hind!!
